Take a Peek into our Progress Summaries!

Updated: Jun 19, 2020

Sample of Fluency Progress Summary from Anonymous Student

AT DH-R.EA.D., we provide Progress Summaries for our students after the completion of every 20 hours of instruction. These Progress Summaries are designed to be a concise summary of our daily instructor notes, or notes taken from the session. For information that does not yet have data, we provide the completed date of the Progress Summary. This allows us to track changes over time.

The above example is from an Anonymous Fluency student. As provided above, this student is at the beginning stages of fluency where they are working on Letters and Sounds. This includes the name of the letter as well as the sound or sounds that they may produce.

If we examine P1 (above), Anonymous Student D is proficient with all consonant names and sounds. For proficiency, we are looking for the student to score 90% or above (average) for all sessions that are recorded for the current Progress Summary.

If we examine P2 (above), Anonymous Student D is demonstrating 95% accuracy for short vowels in isolation. These vowel letters are provided one at a time. The short vowels in P2 are: /æ, ɛ, ɪ, ɔ, ʌ, u/ or short a, short e, short i, short o, short u, and oo. Student D is struggling at times with the concept of Name v. Sound. This means that Student D may see the letter "i", and if prompted, "What sound does that letter make?" Student D may state the name of the letter.

P2 also provides us with Student D's largest struggle in Fluency, decoding unfamiliar worlds and provides a path for how this struggle will be addressed.

Who Can Use This Information?

  1. At DH-R.E.A.D., we use our Progress Summaries for internal audit purposes. It allows us to cross examine our Daily Instructor Notes and Game Plans to confirm that the Progress Summaries are accurate.

  2. At DH-R.E.A.D., we want our Parent(s) and/or Guardians to be aware of the strives our students are making over time.

  3. At DH-R.E.A.D, we want to provide our information to the School Staff and/or the I.E.P. Team. It is crucial for us to provide accurate and up to date information to the School Staff and/or I.E.P. team to keep everyone up to date on current goals and the Student's current working levels.

Thank you for taking the time to review the peek into our Progress Summaries. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to us!
